CompBBQUK Tailgate contests make competition barbecue more accessible than ever before. Based on the concept of American tailgating events, a CompBBQUK Tailgate is designed to enable a team of one or two to arrive with everything they need in a car and compete.
A Champion Series contest puts a flexible structure around your barbecue competition. This means that the contest is flexible enough to be customised to your requirements, but also structured enough that it is consistent and is subject to the same high standard judging and scoring process to ensure it has the prestige required.
There are few limitations on teams, enabling them to cook in a way that suits them, use the ingredients they choose, and produce the highest quality entries.

A Tailgate contest is specifically designed to make competition barbeque as accessible to as many people as possible. It aims to minimise, organisational requirements, costs and time required on both the organiser and the competitor. Based around a concept of a team and their equipment being able to compete from the back of a car, in a single day and at a much lower cost than traditional competition barbecue.
By restricting the equipment teams can use, the number of team members and reducing the traditional number of rounds and entries per round, the Tail gate contests remains flexible to tailer to your event while still ensuring the prestige, transparency and accessibility of a CompBBQUK contest.
